F Bar & Kitchen: West Meets East

On April, 2016, a month that is known for beer-swilling and tomfoolery all in the name of a dead saint who fancied the color green, we attended the newly opened cocktail bar on AB road in Vijay Nagar area. The bar’s name “F Bar & Kitchen” comes from the very famous fashion group “Fashiontvindia”. F Bar & Kitchen is the brainchild of the team behind Ftvindia, which is one of the most renowned international fashion and lifestyle broadcasting television channel. Due to the strong team behind it, F Bar & Kitchen has been highly anticipated and it did not disappoint.

The space at F Bar & Kitchen is best described as quaint. From the street the space looks deceivingly small, but once you enter it is noticeably larger than it appears from outside. There are 4-5 different seating areas at the bar and several tables throughout the front along with an intimate private dining area. The welcoming “open” bar counter puts out varieties of world class cocktails and drafts to compliment the bar’s inventive libations.

Due to the fact that our visit was for a preview, the menu was truncated. Notwithstanding, F Kitchen & Bar offered a nice cross-section of food and cocktails that left us wanting more. We had tried 6 different types of drinks from three categories. Every single one was a hit. Each drink was carefully crafted by the hardworking bartenders and each delivering its own unique and enjoyable experience. Being a huge fan of white rum, my favorite cocktail of the evening was the Mojito which consisted of white rum, mint, fresh lime, sugar and soda.

As with the cocktails, the food options were limited during the opening days but, like the cocktails, offered enough to know you wanted to come back and try all the other dishes. We tried every offering multiple times which included the Dubai fashionweek platter with hummus dip, Chilli cottage cheese sizzler, Tandoori Broccoli and a beautifully toasted garlic bread with housemade marina. The menu itself, comprising of approximately as many dishes as there are cocktails, has some wonderful options such as oriental, Italian, Mexican, Russian and Desi dishes.

All in all, F Bar & Kitchen, Indore is poised to be as successful as its sister restaurants at Pune, Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Jaipur and will certainly be a welcome addition to the fast growing area on Vijay Nagar which is nowadays the hottest spot for food lovers in Indore. Awesome place for Saturday night out with friends. Enjoy drinks and dance till you drop. Great music by the best DJ’s in town.. You will definitely enjoy till end and end up making friends in the bar area.. Call directly to get on the guest’s list, but don’t be late else you will have to pay the entry fees. I know I will be back to finish what I started.
