Vidorra: Soul of Palasia Square

With this dinner at Vidorra I’m back to my old gluttonous habits after a much-needed break to pay penance for the ten pounds I have gained last year- This was my fourth visit and I gotta say this place doesn’t get enough love. Vidorra has all the right parts in place. The restaurant–located at Palasia Square(shekhar Central)–is inviting, there’s a killer covered rooftop, live music, the bartender makes superb cocktails, and the food, while not perfect, has a little something for every craving.

My favorite dish thus far: “The Paneer Hunan Style” Flaky, crunchy paneer sticks covered  with red chilli sauce without a trace of oil, and with a lacquer of soya flavor made my Sunday night. Everything we’ve had on Sunday night was good but their vegetable pot rice was super awesome. Where else in Indore do you find pot rice? Just kidding The vegetable pot rice (pot steamed rice with biryani fragrance) is great although it could use just a bit less oil to be like my favorite rice dish so far. The tandoori salad was just like as usual marinated baked vegetables. All of the curries were spot on. The Atish a anar is perfect and I can’t wait to go back to try the Kaju palak and the Gobhi Jafrani Kebab. Our waiter was super nice and came out to chat with us about the details of food.

The space is very modern with big Tv screen, Live music, Patio and with a beautiful location and a skilled chef at the wheel, Rooftop seems destined to become a heavy hitter in the Indore downtown area. With a keener eye to detail going forward, it will fulfill that destiny.

Not only the food was delicious at Vidorra, but the live band in the middle makes the place so happening. The noise level was relatively high, which is one peeve I have about the Vidorra, because It isn’t fun to scream to your fellow diners when trying to enjoy dinner.

Service: The staff (ALL OF THEM) are so helpful and friendly. We went there for my brother’s birthday and everyone was cheerful and so accommodating. Overall its a nice place to enjoy dinner/Lunch with family, friends, kids or with office colleagues.
